Owl City is tearing up the charts with their hit song fireflies. Owl city has made it big just recently and many people have yet to experience there upbeat synthpop music and have yet to figure out who they are and what they are all about. Adam Young is the lead singer in the band. Owl City started in 1999 in Adam Young’s parent’s basement in Owatonna, Minnesota.

Owl City’s first Album’s name is Of June.  It was released in 2007 and it reaced #20 on the billboard electronic albums chart. There second Album, Maybe I’m Dreaming, came out in 2008 and was also on electronic albums chart at #16. They were both released when Adam Young wasn’t signed to a record company.

Owl City was later signed in 2009 to the record company Universal Republic. Adam Young says his influences are Imogen HeapRelient KBoards of Canada and Armin van Buuren. In my opinion Owl City’s fireflies and Hello Seattle both from there 3rd album Of June are very good and I recommend this band to everyone whose into pop or techno. All though a lot of people tell me that they do not like Owl City.

Fall Out Boy Falling Out?

March 7, 2010 at 11:42 am (All Posts, Music Profiles and Reveiws)

Online there are a lot of rumors going around that the icon Fall Out Boy is breaking up. For those of you who do not know, Fall Out Boy is a pop-punk band from Wilmette, Illinois. With 6 Albums and over 6 award winning songs, this band is very popular (most fans are 12-18 year old girls).

Fall Out Boy breaking up is the talk of several popular blogs. People Online says that Patrick Stump (Lead Vocals) and Pete Wentz (bass, Backing vocals) have confirmed that Fall Out Boy is indeed breaking up. Backing this up is Star Online that says Pete Wentz confirmed FOB has already broken up. However,E! Online says that Fall Out Boy is on the break, not actually breaking up.

All of the blogs and news posts about the band’s alleged break up said that they got there information from Pete Wentz’s blog and Twitter posts. His blog says: “I do not know the future of Fall Out Boy,” and, “I also can not predict that I would ever play in Fall Out Boy again.” He is not saying that he broke up with the band, but it sounds a like the band’s relationship is shakey. Also on his blog he mentions he has not actually talked to the other band members about breaking up. One of Pete Wentz’s twitter posts says: “FOB just got a whole lot more hit songs! Can’t believe I quit the band. Now that I think about it I didnot,” and another post says “Ok no more FOB jokes. we r in the exact position we were when we decided to take a break- idle hands do the devils work. haha.”

So, I guess Fall Out Boy’s fate will only be determined through time. Due to the latest Twitter post he had about the subject, the band was working with John Mayer, so all fans out there are safe and can let out a sigh of relief!

Hey, Give Them Some Credit

March 6, 2010 at 11:05 pm (All Posts)

A live sound engineer is a person that combines and processes many audio signals together to create effects that people at a live show hear. I other words they make the person performing sound good. These people don’t get enough credit for what they do I mean think about it without a sound engineer bands and performers would actually have to have talent. Sound engineering is a very complicated science that takes a lot of patience. To do this job you must know how to use a mixing board, many speakers, power amplifiers, many audio possessing devices, and all the cabling, rigging, and power systems. So next time you see a live show know that it’s not just the band that makes the magic it’s also the live sound engineer.

Watch your meat.

March 6, 2010 at 10:01 pm (All Posts)

Cow, chicken, and pork developed by companies like Tyson aren’t developed the way they were 100 years ago. For example a chicken develops normally in 70 days but a chicken that is developed by the leading companies in America becomes a full chicken in 49 days. How is this possible? After a chick is born it is sent to a factory that injects it with a variety of hormones antibiotics and other chemicals to make it grow faster and larger than a normal chicken. Wait, What? Hormones, antibiotics, Chemicals well that doesn’t sound very tasty but the truth is that most meat you find in your average grocery store has these harsh chemicals in it.
